Update From Wadena – 10/26/2026

33 Fish Fry Town Halls down. Only 5 to go.
1 week to go
This is the 86th Monday since we launched March 11, 2025. Throw in the pre-launch prep work & I’ve been at this for pretty much 2 years. Not exactly sure when we sent the 1st Update from Wadena, but I’m pretty sure we haven’t missed one since. That is thanks to a great Team. I’ve had incredible people at my side this whole time. We’ve built something special, something to be proud of. We have built infrastructure, we have built relationships. We brought new energy, new ideas, and new people to politics. Together, we all have been creating the change we seek. One day at a time.
Our Operations Director Aaron V, along with his friend Swati, launched something they’ve been building for months — an interactive account of every mile, every stop, every town, every event from the last 19 months. It’s all on our website now. I’ve looked at it a few times already & it still gets me. That map isn’t my campaign. It’s yours.
We’re down to the last eight days, which means we’ve got eight 24-hour stretches left to make the difference. I keep thinking about how this started: a rube from Wadena with an idea, then a small group of volunteers willing to take a chance on it, and now a wave of energy moving across western Minnesota that a lot of folks out here haven’t felt in a very long time. That’s not my doing. That’s what happens when people decide hope is worth the effort. We also dropped our final ad of the campaign this week — it’s about the sheer scale of this district & the movement that carried us here. Give it a watch, & pass it along if it says something you’ve been wanting to say.
The Fish Fry Town Halls continue to be a phenomenon. We were in the ruralist of rural counties last week. And people still showed up to break bread & create community. Our ground game is still strong. In fact, people knocked doors in all 38 counties in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District on Saturday! Thanks to the volunteers & local units for making that happen.

Knockin’ doors in the rain in Alexandria. Win the day.
This is a people powered campaign. We are closing in on $600,000 raised & still haven’t taken a dime from a corporate PAC. Our political integrity score according to the Integrity Index is an “A”. Our current Congressperson’s grade has dropped to an “F”. U can chip in here.

Early in-person voting is happening right now, & many of you have already cast a ballot. Thank you. If that’s you, the best thing you can do next is help somebody else do it — help them register, or just get them to the booth. If every one of us brought one first-time voter into the mix, we’d be in a better place as a nation. I met two first-time voters Tuesday night in Ivanhoe & asked them how it felt. One of them said “like Democracy.” The other said “Patriotic.” I believe it’s part of our civic duty, & I believe they’re right. Eight days. Let’s finish this thing.

OSBERG TAKES AIM, FISCHBACH DEFENDS

Of all the coverage & reaction to last week’s debate, that headline in the West Central Tribune might be our favorite. It captures the dynamic of the whole night in five words.
Winning is the goal. But part of our vision from day one has been to run a disciplined, organized, process-driven campaign that listens to voters & earns their trust. Thursday night was the culmination of 19 months of that work. It showed.
Eight days left. We stay committed to the process, committed to the work, & committed to showing up with purpose. Huge thanks to everyone who has joined us so far. Let’s bring a few more along & shock the world.
A Look Back
33 counties down, 5 to go.
The lasts are starting to pile up.
Two more Fish Fry Town Halls, & both were the kind that stay with you. Traverse County came together in Wheaton, where Christeen & crew did a great job promoting & executing, & Matt & the American Legion staff were awesome to work with. You never know what to expect for turnout in the smallest county in the state by population, & about 70 people far exceeded my expectations. MN Senate candidate Krystyne Knutson (SD9) & House candidate Nicholas Hanson (9A) shared their thoughts, & CD7 Chair Jen Cronin made the trip. We also had a 103-year-old World War II veteran in the room. Keith Davidson has been a public servant his entire life, & he shared what gives him hope about America’s future. That’s worth sitting with.
Next up was Lincoln County and a town of a little over 600 people. Last night was my third visit to Ivanhoe since this campaign started 589 days ago — I’m pretty sure I’ve been there more than our current Congressperson. We also crossed the 50,000-mile mark somewhere along the way. Huge thanks to the Fry Team & all the volunteers, to MN State candidates Caitlyn Sanow Minett (SD21), Rusty Nelson (21A) & Nathan Schmig (15A), & to Nathan’s sister Denise for once again sharing her support. It was a little bittersweet saying goodbye. That’s the last time I’ll see those three until Election Day, & I love the energy & perspective they bring.
We also had the last house party of the campaign, back in Big Stone County on the shores of Big Stone Lake. Huge thanks to every single person who opened up their home over the past 19 months & helped us create community. That’s a lot of living rooms & a lot of trust. We show up with purpose & build relationships. That’s how we win. 33 counties down, 5 to go.

Great to appear for another community forum in Morrison County. Thank you Royalton.

The Loaded Baked Potato Fundraiser for the BARC in Windom was good eats & good company.
